1. Youtube
2. Facebook
3. Meebo (thanks to lockdown, there's no windows messenger)
4. Wimbledon news
5. Mail (one of the rare times when my inbox is actually cleared)
6. Counting down to the next break (bfast/lunch/tea) and jioing pple excitedly on meebo.
7. Wondering if my relief mentor is still at his desk, or has he left early - thereby rendering me a legitimate reason to zao as well.
out of the 3 days that i've been at work, i've left the office an hour earlier than expected twice. which in my opinion, is reasonable. because firstly, my actual mentor isn't around. why, because he is off somewhere watching the euro08. secondly, i have already read up the materials that i am supposed to and researched a pretty substantial amount by myself. thirdly, the program which im supposed to use for my project is NOT AVAILABLE. which leads me on to my fourth reason: because of security lockdown, i can't install any programs onto the laptop.
there are a lot of ah bengs along orchard road btw. and boy, do they annoy.

♥ home shweet home
mon- met up with xinling weiting lilian. sat in mos and talked over lunch for 3 hours. who needs shopping when you've got such good friends around? can't remember what we talked about, but i vaguely remembered it was a whole bunch of topics mish-meshed about one another. with the exception of more construction work, no drastic change has happened to town... wasn't too annoyed at the weather cos i spent the whole day shunning the sun. tunnelled about in the underground passageways of orchard road, it was shiok to say the least :)
tue- met tj for more so-called retail therapy. visited the magic shop in meridian. never been to that part of town in ages, plus my impression of it was pretty dodge. but it turned out to be a major owning place. awesome i must say! the magician tending the shop was funny and entertaining - he had the amazing ability to crack jokes while keeping an extremely straight and stern face on. he showed me this cheek-to-cheek trick which blew me away, didn't get his whole narration on time travel though. haha tj simply couldn't resist the urge to spend and ended up buying himself a ghost deck. coolios.
wed - mango sale. not fantastic but decent. got myself a pair of 3-quarts in cherry (not pink!) shade. i wasn't really in the mood to spend, so we adjourned towards ps. having lived in london for the past 9 months made me highly receptive towards walking - something which i used to hate. taking a bus from far east to ps now seems ridiculous to me. hurhur
thurs - prata house with chris. my first experience of inflation when the mushroom prata and teh tarik i had cost $3.90 what expensive prata indeed! rollerblading at ecp with tj :) weather forecast was extremely inaccurate. heavy showers were predicted but we went ahead with it anyhow, and much to our delight it was hot hot hot!! never felt so sticky and grimy in 9 months, but the blading more than made up for the feeling of gross itchiness. totally shackled, we had dinner at the ecp hawker centre. had the heavenly beef soup noodles, sambal stingray and coconut juice!! nothing beats having that after a hot sweaty work out session. we had a running bet of who's going to lao sai first haha then went home to nurse my bruised shins.
fri- incredible hulked with tj. great great greattt movie! highly recommended, but only if you have caught ironman as well! for those who havn't caught either, i shan't be a big fat wet blanket and spoil it for you. haha loved the way the movie actually depicted a more human side of the hulk, instead of showing him as a single-celled testosterone-filled green monster with purple pants.
sat- swam with bro at cousin's place. afternoon sun was blazing whilst we lapped in the pool. went home and napped. that's pretty much how my lazy saturday went.

woke up around noonish, lunched by myself. holed up in my room watching dirty sexy money while the rain pattered outside against my window. being in an empty room isn't all that bad... all you need is a hard drive filled with good shows :) if weather turns for the better tmrw, i might just drop by hyde park. made some errands to emirates and hsbc - what happened to summer time... it's getting too chilly again!
reign over me, a tale of shattered lives and broken hearts. it's pretty slow, but the story of a post-911 trauma victim is touching to say the least.

i figured it might have been the language barrier.

it's mover's day! :)
was really happy to chuck all my notes and books into boxes, of which im not going to see for the next three months (hooray!), and packed my winter jackets into my luggage and another humungous box. i didn't realise i actually have THAT much clothes... i think by the end of year 4, i could hold a garage sale for the amount of stuff i have. further partitioned my wardrobe by stacking my clothes into piles of 1) clothes im definitely not bringing back 2) working/semi-formal tops that i may need for my internship 3) random clothes which im still undecided where they should go
finally down to moving! we walked to and fro along cromwell road lugging trolleys in the blazing sun. maybe sains trolley would have been a better idea. haha. it was pretty hardcore, tj sprained his toe and still had to move my stuff, which were tons heavier than his stuff. at least its over for now! i shall worry about my remaining stuff closer to saturday.
caught the french open finals at ethos in the afternoon as well. it was an utterly disappointing finals where the undisputed king of the clay court demolished his opponent like a small fry. federer played like shites, he literally fed nadal the ball everytime it was a perfect chance to go for a kill. nadal played him all over the court and made him look like a noob.
time for air crash investigation!

♥ post exams!
they were the fattest and juiciest thingies i've tasted. i'm inspired to make one of these stuffed delicacies before i fly home :)
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there
It felt good to be breathing some fresh air finally :)

We celebrated tj's birthday at As Greek As It Gets yesterday evening. I knew tj doesn't like humumgous parties so i invited only the closer friends, hoping for a dinner with good company. It turned out to be a pretty huge crowd eventually. We were treated to a platter full of greek meatfest and red wine. The dinner culminated with a pinkly-frosted cake that resembled more like a mother's day cake, but kudos muchos to abiel for scooting off halfway during dinner to get the cake! Albeit all our efforts, it seemed that we weren't stealth enough as tj anticipated the surprise.
The night didn’t end just yet. We adjourned to The House of Teck, a pub along earls court road for some intoxication fun. Rounds of oh my gosh, mambuca and some form of curdled-baileys-shot were exchanged in the process of getting tj drunk. As a last resort, the idea of downing beer shots in intensive intervals of 15 seconds was proposed and approved, much to the resounding glee of a morbid plan to “turn tj’s liver into patty” that night. Although tj survived, he did look a bit oozy and uneasy from the shots. We had to give it to him for standing up to the challenge like a man! Happy birthday boy :) I’m veryveryvery glad you had a good one this year! Remember that even though you are old (haha!), you can still have fun like old times, because you have a wrecked-bunch of crazy friends to remind you that it doesn’t mean you have to be young to be goofing around :D
Love,
your other sillyhalf.

♥ almost there!
and i'm flying back next sat, much sooner than i expected!! elated about going home and having REAL food. no more cooking for myself the next three months. i smell bliss coming my way. hahaha
happy birthday tj!! im so so so glad you enjoyed your 23rd. all the momentum building up to this day paid off very well :) loved your reaction especially when you saw the belt, classic reaction!
take good care of your new baby! i have faith that we will go a long way.
I CAN DO IT. after this, no more waking up thinking of what formulae to remember... walking to sains to get my pre-exam dosage of relentless! (all that stuff is really badddd for health tsk tsk me) but i must say i will miss my coursemates a lot come summer time when everyone leaves.
